The stars shoot across the sky
I wish they could land on my tongue
Like the snowflakes that fall from the heavens
They land and melt away
But if a star were to fall and land there
I believe it would burn
It would burn hot, like the fire that it is
We imagine them as gentle
Things that we wish upon
But in truth they are not this
Reality brings to them a danger
A scalding ball of fire
If they were actually to land there
It would be salt water on a wound
Or peroxide on a cut
The shooting star- a healing device at its best
My tongue would sting
And burn like fire
But in the end I'd become clean
All badness would be washed from mouth
For words they scar forever
Animosity would leave me, never again to return
And finally, finally I would be clean
It would be worth the burn
